Energy
Energy has always been universally recognized as one of the most important inputs for economic growth and human development. On one hand, growth of an economy, hinges on the availability of cost-effective and environmentally benign energy sources, and on the other hand, the level of economic development has been observed to be reliant on the energy demand. However, to at present India faces major hurdles in making available the energy required to fuel its booming economy. To realize the goal of sustainable energy security, many steps have to be taken up. Efforts have to be taken to improve energy efficiency in transportation, residential, commercial and industrial uses. The widespread adoption of currently available best practices towards improving energy efficiency is the most significant short-term action that could be taken to mitigate the rise in greenhouse gases.
In view of this, ICC has taken various initiatives in the form of recommendation to the petroleum ministry, publication of reports, which were submitted to the ministry of petroleum & natural gas and created various platforms (Summits) between government and industry body where various concerns related to the industry were addressed.
